North Carolina Zoo is seated on 2,200 acres in Asheboro, NC. We are the world's largest "natural habitat" zoo with more than 1,800 animals roaming on approximately 500 acres.
You won't find cages made of steel and concrete here. Our animals are given enclosures that mimic their natural habitats to include trees, ponds, rocks, grass and dirt.
